Every company will soon run on AI leverage. The winners will be “Supercompanies” — lean, fast, and massively cognitively augmented.

Section will be the prototype Supercompany. Scaling our impact with AI is the only way to achieve our mission to help 1 million people thrive in the age of AI, while creating value for ourselves and our families. The old way is not an option anymore.

The foundation of every Supercompany is an AI-augmented workforce. We will be a focused team of executives, leaders, and ICs, powered by a fleet of AI agents and automations.

At every decision point, we’ll ask, “How could AI help us do this better, faster, or in ways we haven’t imagined before?

As an augmented workforce, our AI strategy is simple: “Cut and Create.” We will use AI to cut unnecessary tasks, workflows, vendors and processes. We will use AI to create new workflows, new products and services, new jobs and new revenue. And we’ll use AI to get beyond our own current capability boundaries and into new opportunities.

This is the path forward – not just for Section, but for every ambitious company in the AI era.

Our AI principles as a Supercompany

To be a Supercompany, we must be highly intentional about how we use AI, or risk falling back into old habits. The following are expectations of every employee at Section, regardless of title.

01.

Use AI daily and deliberately.

Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity are core to how we work. If you need a new AI tool, ask for it and we will assess it. Note: We will not use any AI tools from Meta, Xai or Deepseek, as they don’t invest enough in AI safety and human alignment.

02.

Hunt for obsolete work.

On at least a monthly basis, examine your tasks and identify opportunities for AI augmentation.

03.

Create, don’t just cut

It’s not just about efficiency - it’s about inventing with AI. Look for ways to add more value to customers with AI via new products and services that were not possible before. Reallocate saved time to new challenges that add value.

04.

Be bold but not careless.

Set up AI automations and workflows with intention - test them thoroughly, think through edge cases, and have fallbacks ready. A high failure rate is expected when experimenting, but sloppy implementation is not.

05.

Share breakthroughs and failures.

When you discover a great use case or workflow, share it - don’t hoard it for yourself. Admit when AI didn’t work. Transparency helps us grow fast with high trust.

06.

Exhaust AI before adding resources.

A new headcount, software solution, or vendor is no longer the answer to every problem. Investigate AI’s potential thoroughly before you submit a request.

07.

Build an AI-native team from day one.

We will not hire people who say they don’t use AI, or only use it occasionally. Every new team member must be AI-proficient from day one.

08.

Report AI impact in weekly and quarterly updates.

Every team lead must assess and communicate how AI is impacting (good and bad) their team’s performance. We will do this in our regular update channels, like weekly 3Ps and QBRs.

09.

Make ProfAI great.

Our own AI platform, ProfAI, represents our model for how humans and AIs work together to accelerate impact. It’s everyone’s job to improve ProfAI, test new ideas with ProfAI, and help customers get the most value from it.

10.

Own your decisions.

Use AI to pressure-test thinking, explore alternatives, and accelerate execution. But the final judgment call and recommendation is always yours. Outsourcing decisions to AI, cutting and pasting straight from AI, and AI work slop will not be tolerated. Be an AI Driver, not an AI Passenger.

11.

Stay human.

As teams evolve – some growing, some staying flat, some shrinking – support all employees through transitions with reskilling, role pivots, or generous severance. Reward people who increase their impact with AI regardless of their years of experience.

We have a chance to design a way of working with AI that others will want to emulate. The model we create will help hundreds of companies and millions of people thrive in the age of AI. So let’s push hard and build something enviable.
